Yes, Noishvonstine. Otherwise known as "the Disney castle."
Which castle? This castle!
Wait, wait, which castle?
This castle.
YES. THE castle that EVERYONE knows about.
That's my lovely head blocking out the lovelier castle for you. :P
For the low, low price of zero Euros (well, we already paid for it in our tuition but zero Euros makes it sound awesome!) our school went to Bavaria for the day. The bus ride took two hours, but as we pulled up, the castle came into view and we I were was freaking out!!! I've wanted to see this castle for awhile and it felt just like a fairy tale walking through the woods with the fog and seeing castle.
The above photos were taken on a bridge looking towards the castle. We also got to enter the courtyard and take some cool photos there.

Mad Ludwig was the king during the building of Neuschwanstein. In fact, that was his "baby" and his people were taxed to death in order to build it. He had a castle, which we also visited, but it wasn't good enough for him. He may have been mad, but he sure knew how to build a castle. The the left is Hohenschwangau and below are photos of this yellow castle, its courtyard, horses, and me at the Alpsee.

I ended up purchasing a bier stein, or beer mug, made by hand in Germany for only 12 euros.
I'll post a picture later. The day was beautiful in the fog and rain but I was definitely ready to go home by the time the buses left at 2:30. We had dinner and ended up watching a Germany vs Poland soccer game! I've never seen the Germans so patriotic. Sadly, for them, Poland won.
